Community Guidelines
Welcome to The Bitter Woman! First off, we wanted to thank you for joining our community and let you know how much we value your contributions.
This is a safe space to discuss feminist topics and issues in all their complexity. We want everyone to feel that they can freely and comfortably express their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and experiences. How we tell ourselves and engage with one another will determine the environment created in this space.
With The Bitter Woman, we intend to spark discussion and engagement. Thoughtful and respectful consideration and language are paramount to the success of TBW.
If you disagree or do not understand something another community member has posted, take time to evaluate your thoughts and feelings before addressing them. This will promote respectful communication that will allow our community to feel comfortable expressing themselves and sharing their beliefs and experiences. Contributions and discussions will remain positive as a result.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy our space, we ask that you:
-
Respect others. Everyone is individual with their own experiences, perspectives, and beliefs. These may differ from yours. We welcome difference as it forms the foundation of intersectional feminism.
-
Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Share your truth and support others in their vulnerability.
-
Spread positivity in your posts and your responses to others’ posts.
-
Possess positive intent in how you express yourself and in your reactions to other people's self-expression.
-
Empower and support one another.
The Bitter Woman is a space that allows us to be the best versions of ourselves in our self-expression and interactions with other people. The adage applies - treat others the way you would like to be treated.
